Spoke app (Innovation Sprint idea)

An app that is aimed at 13 to 17 year olds, Spoke connects a new generation to the trustworthy stories that Canadians expect from CBC.

Project Overview

The Problem

CBC serves content for a wide range of people, for ages 12 and under with CBC Kids, and people over 18 with all of the other available CBC content but there is a small age group that CBC’s content does not serve. That age group is between the ages of 13 to 17.

The Solution

Create an app (rather than a website) that serves relatable content and reaches out to this small age group as they are one of the biggest consumers of mobile digital content such as TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Discord, Twitch, to name a few.

The Tools

Pencil and paper, White-boarding, Sketch, InVision and Photoshop and Illustrator.

My Role

Product Designer, Branding (Product Name, Logo Design, T-shirt Design)

The Team

A variety of experts from CBC’s Digital Strategy and Product as an Innovation Sprint product idea. From an Agile Team Lead, UX Researchers, Machine Learning Developers, Front and Back end Developers, etc.)
